Pact’s Out of London policy aims to
encourage the sustainability of independent companies outside of London
through access to commissioners, talent, investment and business
support.
To this end, Pact helped developed the definition of
regional production in partnership with media regulator Ofcom and
broadcasters. Pact also works with
broadcasters and regional development agencies to encourage investment
into the nations and regions independent sector .
The recently-launched Pact Production Trend Report, which generated national news coverage, provided clear evidence that broadcasters are failing to improve overall investment levels in out of London production. Pact will use this information to campaign for an improvement in key areas, as well as inform our work developing policies for creating sustainable production businesses across the entire UK.
