James Burstall

CEO, Argonon

Headquartered in London, Los Angeles, New York, Oklahoma and Glasgow, James is the global CEO of the Argonon group, as well as Executive Chair, Argonon USA.

Argonon consists of several production companies and joint ventures producing hundreds of hours of content across all genres for broadcasters, streamers and brands including The Masked Singer (ITV1), Hard Cell (Netflix), Worzel Gummidge (BBC One), House Hunters International (HGTV/Discovery), Dispatches (Channel 4) and Attenborough and the Mammoth Graveyard (BBC One). The group has won over 130 awards including Emmys, BAFTAs and RTS Awards.

Prior to Argonon, James was CEO of Leopard Films and executive produced long-running series, formats and award-winning dramas for broadcasters across the world.

James is passionate about representation of all voices and backgrounds, with equity, diversity and inclusion at the heart of Argonon’s culture since launching in 2011. James is a leading advocate for climate change action, partnering with organisations across the UK.  His best-selling leadership book, The Flexible Method, Prepare to Prosper in the Next Global Crisis was published across the globe in 2023.

James is a huge advocate for the UK production sector, regularly speaking on international and wider creative industry platforms.
