We partnered with Into Film – who create inspiring, inclusive learning experiences through film, cinema and moving images – to produce a lesson resource for teachers and careers professionals to provide young people with a greater awareness and knowledge of careers in the independent TV and film sector.
The resource uses video clips, including from our MADE series of short interview films in which some of the UK’s most successful independent producers of the past 30 years share their insights and experiences, and poses questions around the videos to prompt students to think about the skills and qualities they might need to enter the industry.
Inside Independent Production is a ready-to-play lesson incorporating industry encounters from a range of professionals working in the sector, along with crucial labour market information around roles, pathways and skills needed for success in independent production.
It is designed to be part of a careers education programme, which educators can share in form-time, PSHE, careers lessons, or through subject-based lessons in media, film studies, English language, art, design and technology and more.
The resource is for learners aged 14+ and is free to access via the Into Film website.
