Lobbying & Campaigning

The Reliefs (now Credits) have played an important role in driving economic growth in the sector over the past two decades.

We are a highly effective lobbying and campaigning organisation on behalf of UK independent producers.

Over the years, we have spearheaded campaigns that have helped to transform the independent production sector and created new opportunities for our members and the wider industry.

Our aim is always to achieve the best economic, regulatory and legislative environment for our members to do business in.

Our ProposalsFor Government

In July 2024 we published our Manifesto for Growth, outlining six key proposals for how the Government can continue to grow the UK independent film and TV production sector.

How WeLobby & Campaign

Our lobbying and campaign work is led by our Chief Executive, the Policy team and Pact Council. We work with parliamentarians, Government officials and industry partners to effect change. We also respond to government and regulatory consultations on behalf of our members and submit evidence to inquiries from Parliamentary Select Committees and Government departments such as HM Treasury, the Lords Communications and Digital Committee and the Culture, Media and Sport Committee.

We like to draw on the vast experience and expertise of our members through working groups, consultations and surveys on specific issues. By listening to the views and lived experiences of our members, we can better understand the issues they face and how we can support them through our policy work.
