The filming in England partnership connects different organisations across England, outside of London to create a film friendly environment. Their database of crew and facility listings is comprised of over 8,000 listings. From runners up to HOD they have a fantastic knowledge of where crew are based and who is available. They also offer and confidential crewing service. They can send out anonymous jobs post on the production’s behalf.

Buckinghamshire
Film Office

The Buckinghamshire Film Office aims to maximise the economic and social benefits of the film and tv industry in Buckinghamshire. They work with partners to promote employment opportunities and are linked to Filming in England’s Crew database.

Berkshire
Film Office

Berkshire Film Office brings together the six authorities of Berkshire – Slough, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell, Reading, Woking and West Berkshire Councils and aims to accommodate filming needs in the area, including a searchable crew and talent directory.

Film Office

Sussex Film Office provides a complete film production support service to anyone looking to film in the area, including a crew, cast and suppliers.

South

Screen South is a cultural development organisation with digital creativity at its heart. They focus on nurturing a diverse range of talent with training and progression. They host a range of training programmes – see training section for more details.

BFI Hub
South East

Film Hub South East is led by the Independent Cinema Office. They work with cinemas, film festivals, film societies and community groups across the region to support a thriving and inclusive film exhibition sector.  They cover Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Norfolk, Oxfordshire, Suffolk, Surrey, and Sussex. Society Southern

RTS Southern covers the South of England. They run an awards ceremony for professionals and students. Their Facebook page is regularly updated.

Guild

The Production Guild of Great Britain is the UK’s leading membership organisation for those working in production. They offer an availability service for all UK and international productions looking for members working in accounts, production, assistant directing, location management, post-production and VFX.

Resource
Productions

Resource Productions are a not-for-profit organisation who aim to enable social change through art and film, whilst diversifying the creative industries. They do this by identifying, supporting, and promoting non-traditional artists and filmmakers who might not otherwise consider a career in the sector. They are involved in running the Berkshire Film Offices. They host the Creative Collective which aims to connect freelancers with new contacts, networks, job opportunities and help secure employment/training.

Slough

Home Slough is a programme which aims to revitalise the arts in Slough, providing new and innovative opportunities for people to both experience and express creativity. They commission artists to create activities in the local community, including film.

Oxford

Film Oxford is an arts and creative media charity supporting filmmakers, artists, and digital creators. They work with a range of people from beginners and emerging talent through to artists and industry professionals and they are committed to supporting young people from socially and economically marginalised communities. They offer a range of training courses through the ‘Alternative, Affordable Film School’. They can arrange bespoke training for companies on a range of film making topics.

Discover! Creative Careers is an initiative by the UK Creative industries to make it easier for young, diverse people to find careers in the creative industries. On the website, they host a guided tour of Pinewood Studios with a guide to careers in the film and television industries, plus information about different roles.

Eye

City Eye is an independent charity that inspires and promotes film and digital culture in Southampton and the surrounding region. They support emerging talent as well as established talent through a wide range of projects, training, activities, networking, and screenings during Southampton Film Week.

Our Version
Media

Our Version Media Community Interest Company (CIC) is a social enterprise dedicated to increasing positive and authentic representation of Southampton’s under-represented and misrepresented black communities. They aim to tackle negative stereotypes by equipping people with media skills to tell their own stories.

Portsmouth
Film Society

Portsmouth Film Society is a non-profit community group run by volunteers whose aim is to use English and international film as a medium to support the development of local culture, community and education and encourage both film and diversity appreciation. They have a stated objective to celebrate Black and LGBTQ+ groups, and they achieve this by always committing to and supporting diversity throughout the work they fund and support.

Hastings
Creatives

Hastings Creatives is a community for creative people living in Hastings, St Leonards, and the surrounding area – Bexhill, Battle, Rye, and the villages in between. Their website hosts a free directory of local creatives, they have a Hastings Creative email list which publicises events, shares advice, posts jobs and funding opportunities.

Brighton

Film City Brighton is a hub for all film related activity in Greater Brighton. It offers information for filmmakers and festival goers.

CineCity: The Brighton
Film Festival

CineCity is the area’s premier film festival, and it has been running for 18 years. They have three categories, including short films by local filmmakers, new voices for under 25 emerging filmmakers and first features.

Brighton
Production Hub

Brighton Production Hub represents the television community of Brighton, Hove, and the surrounding areas. They aim to continue to grow Brighton as a television production hub by forging stronger links with commissioning editors, helping local talent and production companies connect, as well as promoting the brilliant programmes produced in Brighton. They have over 600 members, organise regular events, including events aimed at Recruitment and Networking. They have a particular focus on mental health in the industry.

Guildford Community
Television

Guildford Community Television provides free training and access to video production equipment and broadcast facilities to any Guildford community member interested in producing non-commercial content for their channel. The provide a training on technique, story development and equipment.

Fast Track England

Based at BBC locations across the north of England, the BBC Apprenticeship is an 18-month production apprenticeship, offering work experience on the job and a Certificate in Creative Content and Production.

Productions

Resource Productions offers a range of training courses for all ages including: Creative Collective and Creative Collective Meet Up and Showcase; Editing: Intro to Editing; Into Film Club for 11 – 19 year olds; Script Saturday for 11 – 19 year olds.

Screen South is a cultural development organisation with digital creativity at its heart. They focus on nurturing a diverse range of talent and progression. They host a range of training programmes, including:

-BFI Film Academy for Kent
-New Creatives -is a national talent development scheme which nurtures and showcases new emerging, creative voices. Run in conjunction with the BBC, they have 100 commissions to give out across film, audio and interactive.
-Accentuate challenges the perceptions of disability by providing life changing opportunities for deaf and disabled people to participate and lead in the cultural sector.
-Fifth Continent on Film is a scheme which offers opportunities to people of all levels the chance to expand their skills by making short documentaries and creative films.
