Add your support to The Great BBC Campaign

The BBC, the cornerstone of the UK’s creative industries, is in danger.   And if it is in danger then so too are the hundreds of independent producers who work with the Broadcaster.  That is why Charlie Parsons and I, Waheed Alli, set up The Great BBC Campaign – you can follow us on Twitter @Great_BBC and use the hashtag #greatbbc when you tweet about the value of the corporation.  We want to fight for the future of the BBC and we are asking our fellow TV producers to join us.

The Government has already announced severe cuts to the BBC’s budget and now seem determined to shrink what it does. The Great BBC Campaign is fighting to preserve license fee funding and want to see it rise at least by RPI, and we are fighting to defend the BBC’s independence from political as well as commercial interference. 

The UK’s independent television sector thrives when the BBC thrives.  And it can only do that if we join together and take action.

There are three things you can do to help:

-    Donate: help us fund the social media campaign to make sure the public has their voice heard in this debate.
-    Ask your talent to help:  make videos or post supportive messages on social media.
-    Send us ideas that you can help execute.
