Pact Manifesto for Growth Unveiled
We have today (Wednesday 17th July) announced the publication of our policy plan, Manifesto for Growth 2024. The proposals in the document outline how best to continue unlocking growth for the UK’s independent film and TV production sector.
With a Labour Government now in place, we will be using the next few months to familiarise new MPs and the new Government with Pact as an organisation, the delicate ecosystem that makes up the UK production ecology and how the light touch regulatory regime has created immense growth within a 20-year time period with total revenues reaching just under £4bn in 2022.
The proposals in our Manifesto set out how best to continue growth within the sector as we navigate a challenging time due to an overall downturn in commissioning and spend. The plan also acknowledges the ongoing skills and training issues that need to be addressed if we are to have a sustainably high-skilled sector, as well as calling for action on longstanding issues such as the Apprenticeship Levy. These proposals will ensure that the UK independent production sector has the best economic and regulatory environment in which to thrive.
