Pact Members Celebrate Wins at 2024 BIFAs

This year's awards were presented at a ceremony in London on Sunday 8th December.

A number of Pact members and their productions were amongst the winners at this year's British Independent Film Awards (BIFAs).

Good Chaos' James Bowsher won the Breakthrough Producer Award with Balthazar De Ganay, for their work on Santosh (also produced by Mike Goodridge and Alan McAlex). The film's screenwriter, Sandhya Suri won the Best Screenplay Award.

Blink Industries' Wander to Wonder (co-produced with Kaap Holland Film, Circe Films, Beast Animation, Les Productions de Milou and Pictanovo) won the Best British Short Award.

The Best Director Award went to Rungano Nyoni for her work on Element Pictures and Fremantle's On Becoming a Guinea Fowl, whilst the film's star, Susan Chardy, won the Breakthrough Performance Award.

Franz Rogowski won the Best Supporting Performance Award for his role in House Productions' Bird (co-produced with Pinky Promise, FirstGen Content, Access Entertainment and Ad Vitam), and Marianne Jean-Baptiste won the Best Lead Performance Award for her turn in Mediapro's Hard Truths (co-produced with Thin Man Films and Film4 Productions).

Prior to Sunday night, the craft award categories had been announced and amongst the winners were Glen Freemantle, Mary H. Ellis and Howard Bargroff who won the Best Sound Award for their work on DNA Films' Civil War (produced with IPR.VC), whilst the film's VFX Supervisor, David Simpson won the Best Effects Award.

Ben Fordesman won Best Cinematography for his work shooting Escape Plan Productions' Love Lies Bleeding (produced with Lobo Films).
